About Goodself
Goodself is a first-of-its-kind, healthier social media platform that focuses exclusively on health, wellness and lifestyle content. The platform hosts live, interactive audio chats led only by vetted health Experts, while allowing Experts and Users to post and share videos, pictures, and thought pieces. Users can also meet others that share similar health and/or lifestyle challenges.
Our goal is to form a community of like-minded individuals to empower people to share their experiences with others to guide them on a journey to better health. To ensure that this can happen, we want to ensure that your privacy is taken seriously by using personal information to make Goodself an experience that works best for your needs.

- We use personal information to provide our services, to communicate about existing and new Goodself features with you, and to comply with our terms and applicable laws.
- To create a safe environment on the App, we may record conversations and use the recordings to investigate violations of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. We prohibit the recording of conversations in our live chats without speakers’ and participants’ permission.

1.1 Personal Information
We may remove Content that displays personal information, such as financial, medical, residential, etc. that may lead to one being harmed. We may allow private information to remain on the platform if it becomes publicly available through media coverage and other mediums.
We also may allow private information to be posted if there was express authorization and permission from the person, whose information is being posted, to do so. .
1.2 Information That Cannot be Posted
This includes personal identity information about anyone, including yourself, cannot be posted. This includes, but is not limited to:
Personal Information, including, but not limited to:
- SIN, passport number, etc.
- Sensitive information such as passwords, pin codes, driver’s licenses, license plates, etc.
Financial information:
- Bank account numbers, credit card or debit card information, digital payment method information etc.
Personal contact information:
- Posting the personal contact information of others such as their phone numbers, emails etc.
Residential information
- Content that showcases one’s address, post box, or any other sort of personal residential information
Minor
- Content of a minor, under the age of 18, that was either reported by the minor themself, a parent or guardian, or someone else on the platform.
- Content of a minor that did not have consent of the minor, or their parent/legal guardian beforehand.
1.3 Collection & Use of Personal Data
“Personal Data” includes any user information and activity on our platform. Goodself collects, stores, and uses your personal data to provide and improve our services. We do not collect any personal data you do not consent to providing us with.
- We collect your account data when you register for our platform. This is necessary for you to access our community of users and content.
- We collect your live chat and content data when you participate in a live chat or post content. This is to make sure everything on our platform is appropriate and reaches its intended audience.
- We collect your usage data to provide a personalized user experience.
- Third party services we use and connect to may also use personal data without disclosing individual identity. You grant Goodself’s third parties an irrevocable right to collect, process and analyze aggregate data. .

How do we collect your personal data?
Goodself will always ask before collecting your personal data. By registering for our platform, you are allowing us to track your activity while in the app. This includes but is not limited to live chats, posting content, browsing, messaging, and inviting others to join the platform. To provide you with the best service possible, we may also request the following device permissions:
- Permission to send you notifications to keep you informed about relevant content and activity happening while you are not on the app.
- Permission to access your camera and photos/videos to post content onto the platform or send messages to other users.
- Permission to access your microphone to speak in live chats, post content, our send messages.
- Permission to access your contacts to share invite others not yet on the platform to join or view content.
- Permission to add events to your calendar when you choose to participate in a scheduled live chat.

How do we use your personal data?

- Invite you to our App;
- Operate the App and our business;
- Maintain, improve, and develop the App and the App’s features;

- Facilitate network connections;
- Recommend live chats, users to follow and other content that might be of interest to you;
- Notify you when one of your contacts has joined the App;
- Communicate with you about the App by sending you push notifications with announcements, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages, if you have enabled that functionality;
- Provide support for the App, and respond to your requests, questions and feedback; and
- Allow Experts to share and promote their content.
Research and development. We may create and use anonymized information for our business purposes, including to analyze the effectiveness of our App, to improve and add features to our App, and to analyze the general behavior and characteristics of users of our App.
Direct marketing. We may send you direct marketing communications as permitted by law, including, but not limited to, notifying you of feature releases and special events.
Support and Maintenance. We use third party analytics services to automatically log certain information about your mobile device and how you interact with the App. The information collected is used to troubleshoot and prevent errors, perform data analysis, develop new features, and improve user experience.
Communications. We exchange communications with users when they contact us with questions or feedback, including feedback about interacting with other users.
Information provided by social media companies. We use information accrued from interacting with our pages on their services or connect your social media accounts. Connecting your social media accounts allows the App to authenticate your identity and access limited information about those accounts, including the number of connections you have. The information that social networking accounts provide to Goodself may depend on the privacy settings you have with each company, so please consult their privacy and data practices.
Compliance and protection. We may use personal information to:
- Protect our, your, or others’ rights, privacy, safety or property (including by making and defending legal claims);
- Enforce the Terms of Service that govern the App;
- Enforce our Community Guidelines by investigating potential Trust and Safety violations using the Audio recordings collected as described in the Personal Information We May Collect section;
- Audit our internal processes for compliance with legal and contractual requirements and internal policies;
- Prevent, identify, investigate and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity, including cyberattacks and identity theft; and
- Comply with applicable laws, lawful requests, and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities.
1.4 Justification for Data Processing

We are based in Ontario, Canada and rely on cloud storage providers that store user data on our behalf in the United States. We utilize server storage providers around the world to enhance user experience, to bring you our services globally.
